BASS
Alex Frank is a Los Angeles bassist, arranger, and composer, and the Musical Director and bassist for Jeff Goldblum's Jazz group, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. He has arranged or co-arranged many songs across the group's 3 albums for guest vocalists including Kelly Clarkson, Fiona Apple, Gregory Porter, and Miley Cyrus, and he spent the first 10 weeks of 2023 in London as Jeff Goldblum's on-set vocal coach during the filming of the Wicked movies. He appeared on screen playing bass in Clint Eastwood's Jersey Boys, and with Goldblum he has performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Glastonbury Festival, and on The Today Show, The Graham Norton Show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, among others. Alex played bass on Michael Bublé's Grammy winning album Higher, and his recording credits run from Benny Benack III and Till Brönner to Imelda May, Sharon Van Etten, and Nas. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, he continued his studies in Los Angeles with John Clayton and David Allen Moore of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Quincy Jones, after hearing him with the Johnny Mandel Big Band, had 2 words: "Ray Brown."
