Tamir Hendelman is an Israeli born pianist and arranger, a member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio since 2000 and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra since 2001. He began keyboard studies at age 6 in Tel Aviv, moved to Los Angeles at 12, and at 14 won top honors at Yamaha's National Keyboard Competition. He studied at the Tanglewood Institute and earned a degree in Music Composition from the Eastman School of Music. In 2009 he recorded with Barbra Streisand on Love Is the Answer, produced by Diana Krall, and on the follow-up One Night Only, recorded live at the Village Vanguard; both topped the Billboard charts. He has performed and recorded with Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, John Pizzarelli, Roberta Gambarini, and Rickey Woodard, among others, and he leads his own trio on the albums Playground and Destinations, exploring standards, Brazilian music, blues, and his Israeli roots.
