Benny Benack III is a third-generation Pittsburgh Jazz musician and one of the rare players who is genuinely elite twice over: a Thelonious Monk Competition trumpet finalist who also took third place at the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition. DownBeat's readers named him the #1 Rising Star Male Vocalist, and audiences worldwide know him from Postmodern Jukebox and the 8-Bit Big Band. Session No. 06 gets both Bennys: the horn and the voice, sometimes in the same chorus.
