SESSION 03
James Morrison
TRUMPET & TROMBONE

James Morrison is Australia's most celebrated Jazz musician, a virtuoso who plays essentially everything with a bell on it, plus a few things without. He debuted at the Monterey Jazz Festival at 16 and went on to share stages with Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Herbie Hancock, and Wynton Marsalis. He composed and performed the opening fanfare for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, holds the Order of Australia, and founded the James Morrison Academy of Music. For Session No. 03 he brought trumpet and trombone and traded stories about hearing Ray Brown and Dizzy live as a teenager.
