Joel Frahm
TENOR SAXOPHONE
Joel Frahm is one of the most in-demand tenor saxophonists of his generation, with credits on well over 100 records. He came up alongside Brad Mehldau, a high school bandmate, and was a featured soloist on Mehldau's Grammy winning Finding Gabriel. His resume runs from Betty Carter and Jane Monheit to Maynard Ferguson and Dafnis Prieto's Grammy winning Back to the Sunset. He now teaches Jazz saxophone at Texas State University. Session No. 04 caught him in full flight: bebop, ballads, and one of the most joyful solos we've filmed.
